CAUTION for Buyers Caution (Buyer)
Notes on Using This System
- This system provides quotations only. Final contracts will be concluded after consultation with our staff. Prices shown are for reference.
Notes on Ordering
- Shipment will be made only after the bank confirms the L/C. We never ship before L/C confirmation.
- No returns or cancellations are accepted after the contract is finalized.
Notes on Quality
- There may be slight variations in product quality.
Notes on Knots
- “With knots” includes dead knots. Sawmills generally do not remove dead knots.
- “No knots” often includes small knots (Jōkosetsu grade) depending on the sawmill.
- Jōkosetsu means up to three knots of 5 mm or smaller per board, but the criteria vary by sawmill.
Notes on Size
- Green lumber shrinks as it dries. The actual size may be smaller than shown.
Notes on Round Edges
- Materials marked as “rounded” may contain remnants of tree bark.
Notes on Grades
-
Grades A, B, and C are based on Japanese sawmill standards.
(A) Suitable for construction
(B) Suitable but may have defects such as cracks
(C) Unsuitable for construction; major defects
* Some sawmills may mix grades B and C.
* Japanese grading is based on construction use and is not determined solely by knot count.
Notes on Drying
- Japanese KD lumber is dried to suit Japanese construction standards.
- Moisture content is reduced to around 13%, but may reabsorb moisture.
- The process is to reduce warping and is not intended to reach below 9% like furniture-grade lumber.
Notes on Green Lumber
- Green lumber may change size or quality, or develop blue stain as it dries.
Other Notes
- Wood is a natural material and varies in color, grain, cracks, and warping.
- Photos are for reference and do not perfectly match the actual product.
- Please contact the operator or sawmill before placing a provisional order if you have questions.
